WASHINGTON — In a speech from the Rose Garden, President Donald Trump announced that a deal had been reached to temporarily reopen the government from the partial shutdown.
“In a short while, I will sign a bill to open our government for three weeks, until Feb. 15,” Trump said.
The president stated that federal employees who have been furloughed will receive backpay as soon as possible.
“It will happen fast,” Trump said.
