BIRMINGHAM – The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute announced on Friday that it will give the Fred Shuttlesworth Human Rights Award to Angela Davis, according to WBRC.

The BCRI had initially intended to give an award to the Birmingham activist, then decided against it due to concerns from the Jewish Community and has now reversed itself again.
The response to the decision to not award Davis resulted in three members of the BCRI resigning.
