BIRMINGHAM — The National Weather Service in Birmingham issued a tornado watch for 12 counties in Alabama until 11 p.m. on April 18.
Counties impacted are Autauga, Bibb, Chilton, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Lowndes, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Sumter and Tuscaloosa.
At this time, Jefferson and St. Clair Counties are not included in the watch, but that could change as the threatening weather system approaches. The region remains at a slight risk for tornadoes and damaging winds up to 60 mph.
