CENTER POINT — After 33 years on the job, a well-known Center Point Fire District firefighter is retiring on Aug. 1, 2019.
Ray Moore started with CPFD on April 20, 1986. His last full day on the job was July 18, 2019.
Although Moore, who is also known affectionately as “Ray-Ray,” will be retired, CPFD said he will return at some point in a part-time role. Those who have worked alongside Moore for many years said he will never stop serving his community in some capacity.
CPFD posted on Facebook about the retirement, wishing the best for Ray.
“We wish you well Ray in your retirement and look forward to seeing you around for many years to come,” the post read.
