From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
TRUSSVILLE — A new Mexican restaurant is now open off Highway 11 in Trussville.
La Cazuela Mexican Cuisine is at 8156 Gadsden Highway. According to owner Eddie Garcia, the restaurant offers authentic Mexican cuisine including street tacos, burritos and fajitas.
“I’ve been in the business a long time, so I know how to do fajitas,” said Garcia. “I think what will make us stand out is our street tacos.”
To wet your whistle, try the house margaritas, Corona-ritas or other specialty drinks. The restaurant plans to start a Happy Hour and other specials the week of Christmas.
The Garcia family knows the restaurant business. Eddie Garcia’s wife, Araceli, owns and operated Shelly’s Bakery in Pinson and their son runs La Cabanita in Springville.
“If your family supports you, you can do anything,” said Garcia. “If it’s one person, it makes it hard, so it’s good to have the family support.”
La Cazuela offers fresh, never frozen food.
“Everything we cook is fresh,” said Garcia. “The truck comes by four or five times a week.”
Garcia said he is excited to do business in Trussville.
“It’s all about the support of the people,” he said. “I think business will be good.”
