PELL CITY — A Pell City man was arrested Thursday after pointing a firearm at authorities, according to Assistant Sheriff Billy J. Murphy with the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office.
The Pell City Police Department responded to 220 Hazlewood Drive in Pell City at 8:38 p.m. to a possible overdose. When authorities arrived they encountered an irate, armed subject who pointed a firearm at the officers.
The Pell City Police Department, along with the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, were able to take the subject, identified as Dennis Jenkins, into custody after a brief standoff.
The subject was arrested and charged with one count of Menacing and was transported to the St. Clair County Jail in Pell City.
