HOMEWOOD — A crash in Homewood early Sunday morning claimed the lives of three students from A. H. Parker High School, the school confirmed. The victims have not been identified.
The Parker High School Prom was Saturday night. Counselors will be on hand for students when they arrive at school on Monday.
According to the Alabama State Troopers, three people were killed in a crash in Homewood early Sunday morning.
“Troopers were requested by Homewood Police Department to conduct a fatal traffic crash investigation early this morning which resulted in the deaths of a driver and two passenger,” ALEA said in a statement.
The crash occurred on Green Springs at Lakeshore Drive.
This was a single vehicle crash. The vehicle caught fire as a result of the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
No further information was available.
The names of the deceased will not be released at this time and is pending notification of next of kin, according to the Troopers Office.
