The Trussville BOE met this morning at 7:00, but the matter of the superintendent’s contract was not on the agenda.
Last night, the board issued a statement that said this morning’s meeting “will notinclude the discussion or approval of the agreement with the superintendent. Logistics today prevented finalizing the agreement. There will be an additional Called Meeting with the required 24 hours’ notice when the agreement is ready for discussion and approval.”
School board attorney Donald Sweeney said Monday night that he had been meeting with TCS superintendent Suzanne Freeman’s attorney, Bruce Gordon, and the framework for a settlement agreement was almost complete. The board later authorized Sweeney and board president Bill Roberts to finalize the buyout of Freeman’s contract
.
The board is expected to name an interim superintendent and interim principal for the high school after negotiations for Freeman’s departure are complete.
