TRUSSVILLE — Three Hewitt-Trussville High School Engineering Academy students recently participated in a project for NASA.
Jonathan Adams, Shane Bailey and Logan McCormick created full-scale models of actual parts used on the space station. The models will be utilized for training of NASA personnel.
Students created the parts using 3-D computer modeling software. After modeling was complete, the parts were printed using a 3-D printer. The students then assembled the parts into a full-size working prototype. On April 25, students presented their drawings and working prototypes to NASA personnel at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville.
