From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
BLOUNT COUNTY –The young sisters who drowned in Locust Fork River on Saturday have been identified as 12-year-old Jesse Lynn Harmon and 14-year-old Diana Marie Harmon,.
Youth pastor, Will Standridge of County Line Baptist Church has started a Go Fund Me campaign for the Harmon family. He said the sisters were active, godly and beautiful girls in the church youth group.
“These girls came from a very poor family that has no means of paying for the funeral or burial,” Standridge posted on the account. “I cannot over-stress the urgency that we get this money soon as possible as the funeral is coming up very quickly. It means so much to us and the Harmon family here at County Line for any help you can give. Any leftover money will go into an education fund for the Harmon’s youngest daughter, Amber.”
The girls were swimming in the area of Deans Ferry with their father and another adult, who unsuccessfully tried to save them, when they drowned.
The bodies of the sisters were recovered by Warrior Fire and Rescue personnel at 6:36 p.m. and 7:45 p.m., according to Blount County Sheriff Loyd Arrington.
