BIRMINGHAM — Just before 6 p.m. Sunday the Jefferson County Sheriff’s department received a call about a person shot.
Deputies arrived to the 1100 block of Pebble Creek Parkway to find a 22-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
According to Sgt. Jack Self, the victim and another man were gambling outside the apartments, when the two got into an argument over winnings. The victim walked away and the suspect pulled a handgun out and shot him, fleeing the scene in a black Ford Mustang before deputies arrived.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 325-1450 or Crime Stoppers at 254-7777.
