From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
BIRMINGHAM –A Saturday shooting in broad daylight has left one man dead in Roebuck as police search for the shooter.
The shooting occurred in the 300 block of Robison Drive, about two blocks behind the Birmingham Police East Precinct and the Roebuck Walmart, just after 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Police had all four lanes of Robison Drive blocked in both directions as they investigated.
The black male victim is 25 years old, according to his stepfather. He was found shot to death inside a burgundy vehicle.
“It’s hard to understand,” his stepfather said. “His mother is having a hard time. I can’t let her out of the car because she’s just falling apart. He comes from a good family, a close family. We don’t have any idea what happened, yet.”
A crowd of family members and onlookers gathered behind the police tape became emotional at times with a few crying and screaming.
