UPDATE: School closings announced

Jefferson County, Blount County, St. Clair County and Trussville City schools will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 16, due to the threat of inclement weather. All after-school activities have been canceled.

Per the Jefferson County Board of Education Facebook page, “Due to the expectation of winter weather and dangerous driving conditions, all Jefferson County Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 16th. All committee meetings and after school activities will be cancelled.”

The closing of Trussville City Schools was announced Monday on social media as well.

St. Clair County posted on social media Monday evening, “Due to the threat of severe winter weather, all St Clair County schools will be closed Tuesday, January 16th. School officials will be monitoring the weather situation to determine if any other schedule changes will be required. Thank you and be safe.”
