SPRINGVILLE — A Springville man who was arrested on sexual assault charges may be connected to a string of other sexual assaults in Georgia, according to myajc.com.
Matthew Lee Moore is a former corrections officer at the St. Clair Correctional Facility who was recently arrested for an alleged sexual assault in Fulton County, GA two years ago. According to the report, authorities from the Sandy Springs Police Department in Georgia suspect that he may have been involved in other sexual assaults in the state based off of DNA evidence.
Moore faces charges of aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment and assault with the intent to commit rape. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is analyzing DNA evidence from previous cases. These cases are from Sandy Springs and elsewhere in Georiga, some of them going back more than 10 years ago, the report said.
Authorities in Sandy Springs stated that it is possible that there are other sexual assault victims who have not yet come forward.
