HARPERSVILLE — One person was killed after an explosion occurred on Highway 280 in Harpersville, according to CBS 42.
The explosion involved a supply box in the back of a flat bed trailer. James T. McConatha from CBS 42 reported that supplies a Conex storage container were smoldering, eventually leading to the explosion.
The victim, identified as Christopher Anderson of Mississippi, was a 36-year-old worker who was killed when he opened the doors to get the supplies.
The incident happened after 7 a.m. at a work site this morning on Farmingdale Drive in Harpersville. Other workers at the scene were not injured.
