GRAYSON VALLEY — Cara Yager, a Hewitt-Trussville grad and Grayson Valley resident missing since Sunday, has been found.
Capt. David Agee of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Yager had been located around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday and was reunited with her family. Agee thanked the public for assistance in locating Yager, but provided no further details in regard to her disappearance.
Yager’s pickup was found near the Cahaba River on Sunday after she was reported missing by her family who was concerned for her safety.
The discovery of the vehicle prompted a massive search of the flood-water-swollen Cahaba River, but the search produced no sign of Yager.
Yager was last seen on Sunday in the area of Grants Mill Road.
The search of the Cahaba River area for Yager continued at 6:30 a.m. on Monday after being suspended at about 8 p.m. on Sunday, according to emergency personnel. It was suspended again at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
First responders were first notified at about 3:30 p.m. on Sunday that Yager was missing near Lake Purdy. After receiving additional information, the search moved to the Cahaba near Grants Mill Road.
In addition to the Cahaba Valley Fire Department, Birmingham Police, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Vestavia Hills Fire Department and the Leeds Water and Rescue team all participated in the search.
