JEFFERSON COUNTY — The Jefferson County Board of Equalization will be visiting properties for tax valuation purposes over the next three months.
Appraisal staff has been given identification along with white vehicles with Jefferson County logos and yellow, flashing lights to inspect properties. They will be reviewing property throughout the county from March 11 through the end of June.
The Board of Equalization does not want property owners to be alarmed during this process. Their workers will only be out during the business hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Staff will not need to access homes for the assessments but may be seen inspecting properties from the outside. If you have questions or need additional information, you can call the Board of Equalization at (205) 325-5566.
