BIRMINGHAM — A suspect is charged in connection with his brother’s death after Birmingham Police said he stabbed him on Wednesday, June 5, 2019.

Officers from the West Precinct responded to 1212 33rd Street Southwest to investigate a report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers located the victim on the ground unresponsive next to a vehicle in the parking lot. According to police, the victim was suffering from an apparent stab wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue reported to the scene and transported the victim to UAB Hospital for treatment. Investigators learned that the victim had succumbed to his injury while he was in transport to the hospital. The victim was pronounced deceased upon arrival.
Police identified the victim at Clarence Farley, 61, or Birmingham.
Police identified the suspect as Jimmy Farley, 69, of Birmingham.
A murder warrant was obtained against the suspect.
Police said the altercation with the victim and the suspect appeared to be a domestic dispute. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene. The suspect and victim are brothers.
