TALLADEGA — The Talladega Fire Department responded to a truck that slammed into the Arby’s restaurant on East Battle Street on Thursday, June 20, 2019.
Fire Captain John Tyson said the department got the call at 11:45 a.m. The truck was completely driven into the side of the building. The driver of the truck was not injured. One person, an employee inside the restaurant, was transported to Citizens Hospital in Talladega.
Talladega Police Chief Jason Busby said the employee was not hurt by the truck.
“The employee that was transported was not injured in the wreck,” said Busby. “It was from unrelated circumstances.”
Busby said the driver was pulling into a parking spot and his foot slipped off the brake and onto the accelerator. Busby said no charges will be filed.
Arby’s will be out of business for a couple of days, according to Captain Tyson.
