TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville City Schools Board of Education was presented a check, for the annual allocation to school systems in Jefferson County, during its monthly meeting on Monday, Nov. 18, 2019.
The check of over $777,000 was presented by Senator Shay Shelnutt, Representative Danny Garrett and Jefferson County Commissioner Joe Knight.
“This is the result of 2016 when we refinanced the one-cent sales tax in Jefferson County,” said Knight. “They passed this legislation, it went to a constitutional amendment, you guys voted on it and this is the result of that.”
The amount of money is determined based on the number of students in the school district.
