TRUSSVILLE — Hewitt-Trussville senior and soon-to-be Alabama Crimson Tide freshman Malachi Moore will sit out the upcoming 2019 Alabama vs. Mississippi All-Star Classic.
Auburn defensive back Omari Porter is set to replace Moore.
Moore, who will begin his tenure with the Crimson Tide next month, recorded 83 total tackles with four interceptions and eight passes defended this season. He concluded his Huskies playing career with the game-sealing interception in the upset win over then No. 1 Thompson in the final game of the season.
In his four seasons at Hewitt-Trussville, Moore has recorded 156 total tackles, five interceptions, one fumble recovery and 19 passes deflected.
Moore was recently honored with his Adidas All-American jersey during a ceremony put on by the 2020 All-American Bowl Road to the Dome tour. The annual East vs. West matchup will be played in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on Jan. 4, 2020.
The senior was recognized on Monday as the 2019 Hewitt-Trussville Player of the Year.
