STEELE — The Steele Police Department arrested a man from Center Point after an officer spotted a car stolen out of Etowah County.
Officer Jim Clay said the officer came into contact with the stolen vehicle around Steele Station Road at 9:59 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 13. The officer attempted to make a traffic stop and the driver fled, according to Clay.
Multiple jurisdictions assisted Steele Police is stopping the vehicle on Interstate 59.
Ta’Darrius Jones, 25, of Center Point, was taken into custody. He was placed in the St. Clair County Jail on charges of reckless endangerment, buying/receiving stolen property, possession of a pistol without a permit and criminal mischief – second degree. He was given an $18,000 bond.
