TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Police Department had a busy year in 2019. Officers responded to over 19,000 calls for service, made 231 felony arrests and investigated over 1,500 accidents.
Among high profile stories in 2019 was the lone homicide case that occurred at Cracker Barrel in March. Bryan Hancock was charged with capital murder in the death of Randy Young. Hancock’s trial is set to begin on May 4, 2020.
The police department also had new technology in 2019 to help locate stolen cars, stolen tags, and people with warrants for arrests. Flock Safety cameras were installed across the city in November.
