BIRMINGHAM — A seven-year-old hospitalized at Children’s of Alabama is slowly recovering from injuries after a tornado in Lawrence County in December 2019. The twister claimed the lives of his mother and father and now the community is coming together to build a home for Landen Godsey.
When the tornado hit on Dec. 16, 2019, the family was living with Godsey’s grandmother. The grandmother is now caring for the child and is in need of a home to bring him to once he is released from the hospital.
USA Roofing and Mojo, with WYZP, out of Huntsville/Decatur, are working to raise the money for the new home. A GoFundMe page has been set up for the child.
