BIRMINGHAM — The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a hazardous weather outlook for central and north Alabama ahead of possible severe thunderstorms on Tuesday afternoon and night. Jefferson, St. Clair and Blount counties are included in the area of concern.
According to the NWS, strong to severe thunderstorms are possible across the northern half of central Alabama from 4 p.m. until midnight.
Primary threats include damaging winds up to 60 mph and quarter size hail. A tornado cannot be ruled out.
