Lawrence B. Ragland, Jr., of Pell City, AL went to be with his Lord and Savior on Aug. 30, 2020.
He is survived by his son, Richard L. Ragland (Brenda) of Mobile, AL; daughter, Kathryn R. Boone (Fred) of Ocoee, FL; grandsons, Jared Ragland of Birmingham, AL, Justin Ragland (Rebecca) of Helena, AL; great-grandson, Bentley Ragland; great-granddaughter, Parker Ragland of Helena, AL; and sister, Ann Hewitt of Birmingham, AL.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby S. Ragland; son, William Barry Ragland; parents, Lawrence B. and Vera Ragland. He was currently a member of Cropwell Baptist Church in Pell City and a member of the Boomers and Beyond Sunday School Class.
Lawrence had been employed at Southern Natural Gas for 35 years and a member of the US Navy. After his retirement, he and his wife were longtime members of the Alabama Campers on Missions.
Lawrence was also an avid softball player. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Lakeside Hospice for the excellent attention they gave Lawrence during this most difficult time. Funeral service was held on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 2pm at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville, with Eldon Hall and Rev. Fred Boone officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
