CENTER POINT — The Center Point football team will take the field a little early this week, as the second half of the season continues.
According to head coach George Bates, his Eagles will play host to Class 5A, Region 6 foe Hayden on Thursday night instead of Friday as it was originally scheduled.
That change comes in response to the threat of Tropical Storm Delta, which is expected to reach hurricane strength in the coming days as it approaches the Gulf Coast.
Center Point (4-2, 2-2) is looking to bounce back from a 17-14 region loss to Leeds last Friday while Hayden (3-3, 1-2) comes off a 56-7 loss at the hands of No. 6 Alexandria. The Eagles are currently tied with Corner for third place in the league standings behind Alexandria and Leeds.
Thursday’s outcome will help shape the postseason picture.
