BIRMINGHAM — With just over two months remaining in 2020, Birmingham has already hit the 99th homicide mark for the year.
According to Officer Truman Fitzgerald, officers responded to a shooting in the 4300 block of Gadsden Street where they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds in a vehicle. Fitzgerald said neighbors heard the shots and called police. The call came just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
Sgt. Rodarius Mauldin identified the victim who was killed as Jehudijah Davis, 24, of Birmingham. The second shooting victim was also a male.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue pronounced one victim dead at the scene and the second victim was transported to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
