TRUSSVILLE — One of the fastest-growing games in the country has grabbed the attention of several locals.
Pickleball is the name and hand-eye coordination is the game.
According to trussvillepickleball.org, players can enjoy the game for free at several local locations, including Clay Elementary School, CrossPoint Church, Trussville Mall Courts, Trussville Civic Center, Trussville YMCA and First Baptist Church Trussville. Free classes are also available from time to time — check trussvillepickleball.org for class times and dates.
The basics of pickleball according to USA Pickleball:
- A fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.
- Played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net.
- Played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes.
- Played as doubles or singles.
- Can be enjoyed by all ages and skill levels.
