From The Tribune staff reports
TRUSSVILLE — Tropical Smoothie Cafe has started the groundwork to open a location in the city of Trussville.
The location will be in a strip development at 2050 Gadsden Highway. The development is also the home of Metro Diner, Chicken Salad Chick, and Taco Mama, along with several other businesses.
Crews have installed the sign for the location and preparation is underway inside.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe serves more than smoothies and juices. Customers can also choose from a variety of salads, wraps, sandwiches, flatbreads and quesadillas. The franchise promises “quality meats, fresh produce, and flavorful sauces.” Just this year, it was ranked #14 overall in the Smoothie/Juice category by Franchise 500.
The smoothie destination all started on a beach in Destin, Florida, and now has more than 900 locations nationwide.
“We started as a destination for flavor, and it’s a proud heritage that we continue today,” the franchise’s website states. “We are guided by a simple belief: when you eat better, you feel better.”
Customers can join Tropical Rewards to get a point for every dollar spent. For every $55, you get a $5 reward.
The franchise also gives back by partnering with Camp Sunshine to help children with life-threatening illnesses and their families have memorable experiences. To date, Tropical Smoothie Cafe has donated more than $7 million to the cause.
No opening date has been announced for the Trussville location, but the franchise is hiring. You apply at www.tropicalsmoothiecafe.com.
