BIRMINGHAM — Detectives with the Birmingham Police Department are conducting a homicide investigation following a shooting that occurred on Saturday, March 20 in Birmingham.
According to the department, officers from the West Precinct responded to a person shot at 1635 Alameda Avenue in Birmingham at approximately 6:14 p.m. Saturday. Officers arrived and discovered the victim, Montrell Holloway in a hallway of the residence with an apparent gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded to the residence and the victim was pronounced deceased on the scene. Holloway was 22 and lived in Birmingham.
Authorities say the motive of this homicide is domestic in nature. The Birmingham Police Department has the suspect in custody. The identity of the suspect will be release after formal charges are filed.
