BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after three women died of suspected drug overdoses on Monday, April 5, 2021.
The three women were in two separate apartments at the Livingston Oaks complex in east Jefferson County.
A 42-year-old woman was found around 7:30 a.m. Investigators believe the woman had used crack cocaine and overdosed.
At 5:15 p.m., two other women, ages 56 and 58 were found in another apartment at the same complex. Investigators believe illegal drugs were used before their deaths.
The identities of the three women have not been released and the sheriff’s office is attempting to determine if all three women used the same type of narcotics.
“If you have in your possession, or know of anyone who has crack cocaine in their possession, it is imperative that you understand, not only is it illegal and harmful, it is deadly,” said Sgt. Joni Money in a press release.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office will determine the exact cause and manner of death in these cases.
