UPDATE: Coroner identifies 1 of 2 killed in overnight shooting in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM — An overnight shooting in Birmingham left people dead and police searching for answers.
At approximately 11:10 p.m., a North Precinct officer heard several gunshots near the 500 block of 10th Avenue West. Multiple shot spotter alerts then went off at 512 10th Avenue West. Officers were dispatched to the area to investigate.
“Upon arrival, officers observed two male victims lying unresponsive inside of a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound,” Fitzgerald said. “Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced both victims deceased.”
