CHALKVILLE — A lightning strike near Chalkville Elementary School caused the main building of the school to be evacuated Wednesday afternoon.
No injuries were reported by school administrators and the evacuation was termed a precautionary measure because lightning reportedly struck very near the building.
Students attending classes in the main building shifted to other parts of the school, but then classes resumed as normal after fire officials gave determined it was safe. School dismissal will go on as normal.
