MONTGOMERY — According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, Covid-19 related hospitalizations in Alabama have fallen 70 percent since the peak of the latest surge on Sept. 1, 2021. Of those hospitalized, 22% are fully or partially vaccinated.
ADPH data indicated 872 people are hospitalized in Alabama with Covid. That’s down from 2,890 people that were hospitalized on Sept. 1 and the lowest number since July 25, 2021 when 870 were hospitalized.
Data provided on Tuesday by the Alabama Hospital Association indicated that 79% of those hospitalized are unvaccinated while 18 percent are fully vaccinated and 4 percent are partially vaccinated.
In ICU, 1,366 of 1,527 beds are occupied. Covid-19 patients make up 23 percent of ICU patients.
Eighteen cases were pediatric patients with three in ICU and two on a ventilators. Three patients are pregnant and one of those women are in ICU.
