BIRMINGHAM — A slight chance for severe weather is predicted to begin on Wednesday, December 28.
According to the National Weather Service, some strong to severe storms are expected Wednesday afternoon and evening. Wednesday will be a mostly cloudy day, with showers and thunderstorms developing during the afternoon and into the evening hours.
Damaging winds up to 60 mph will be the primary risk, and a tornado is possible.
Severe storms are also possible across Alabama early Thursday morning. Strong winds and a few tornadoes are possible. Another severe weather threat will come Saturday afternoon into Saturday night, followed by much colder air.
