JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 20-year-old was found dead on Saturday, January 8, around 2:15 p.m. has been identified.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, John Christopher Taylor-Wilson, 20, of Bessemer, sustained gunshot wound injuries during a reported assault.

The call was initially reported that Taylor-Wilson had been a pedestrian struck by a vehicle, but after further investigation, it was not believed that the victim was struck by a vehicle.
Jefferson County Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the event.
