SPRINGVILLE — Former Moody High School football coach Adam Wallace was recognized as the St. Clair County Coach of the Year during the county-wide basketball tournament finals on Saturday, January 29, 2022.
Wallace, who was relieved of his coaching duties in November, is still currently a member of the faculty at Moody. He led the Blue Devils to a 6-4 record in 2021, narrowly missing the playoffs.
In addition, Wallace’s son, A.J. Wallace, was recognized as the St. Clair County offensive MVP, while Blue Devils linebacker Matthew McDonald earned defensive co-MVP honors alongside Springville’s Cody Abts.

Also recognized on Saturday was the All-County volleyball team as well as the county volleyball coach of the year. Springville’s Sandlin Short shared the most outstanding offensive player award with Campbell Grace Adams of Ragland.
The Purple Devils’ Brooke Ford was recognized as the 2021 coach of the year.
