Their run came to an end on Monday night against a very good Hartselle team, as the Lady Cougars fell, 52-41.
Kamoriah Gaines scored 22 and Telecia Ransom had 11 in the loss. The Lady Cougars were within 5 points late in the fourth quarter before Hartselle pulled away.
Clay-Chalkville finishes 14-9 on the season, finishing second in 6A Area 12 play. The Lady Cougars also finished as runners-up in the area tournament, which put them on the road against Hartselle.
Hartselle goes on to face Hazel Green in the next round.
