BIRMINGHAM — A 19-year-old has been identified as the shooting victim who crashed a car into a Birmingham yard on Monday, April 25, at approximately 2:00 p.m.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Jomorion Gordon, 19, of Birmingham, sustained gunshot wound injuries during a reported assault.

Birmingham Police Officers arrived on the scene just after 2:00 p.m. and observed a vehicle that struck a tree. Officers located Gordon inside the vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service responded to the scene and transported Gordon to UAB Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

“The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was shot at another location and attempted to drive to the hospital,” Sergeant Rodarius Mauldin said. “Additional information is limited. No arrest has been made, nor has a motive been established.”
