DEKALB COUNTY — A single-vehicle crash claimed a Sylacauga man’s life on Wednesday, June 29, at approximately 5:40 a.m.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Joey S. Wooten, 51, was seriously injured when the 1995 Suzuki Savage motorcycle he was operating struck a deer.
Wooten was transported to Dekalb Regional Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The crash occurred on Dekalb County 81, approximately three miles south of Fort Payne, in Dekalb County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
