William Owen Eskew, 81, of Birmingham, went home to be with the Lord on July 15, 2022.
William was a life-long resident of Birmingham and was born on July 7, 1941, to Curtis O. Eskew and Annelu Wofford Eskew. He graduated from Woodlawn High School and joined to US Airforce in 1961. William retired from the Air Force after several years of service as a Tech Sgt.
William was a member of Central Baptist Church of Trussville and a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed visiting aircraft museums and was passionate about his work. He enjoyed fishing and was an Alabama football fan. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and dotting dog owner to Puckey.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Patsy Leon Franklin Eskew; a son, Curtis Marshall Eskew; his parents; his sisters, Beth Eskew and Barbara Talley.
He is survived by his children, Cheryl Knight (Wayne), Bill O Eskew, Jr (Pat), Patrick Eskew (Candace), and Luann Sims (Scotty); Grandchildren Joseph, Nikki, Branden, Corey, Dylan, Mac, Slade, Taylor, and Brodie; five great-grandchildren; his sisters, Peggy Carr and Juanita Eskew (Kay) and a brother, Gordon Eskew; he also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The funeral for William will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Trussville on Friday, July 22, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation for family and friends held one hour prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial’s adjoining gardens.
