BIRMINGHAM — A 55-year-old man was arrested for the murder of a Birmingham woman on Monday, July 25.
According to the Birmingham Police Department (BPD), Fessor Mckinney, of Birmingham, was arrested in connection to the murder of Holli Jo Wilson after he voluntarily turned himself into police custody at the Birmingham Police Headquarters.
Birmingham Police Detectives presented information on the case to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. After an assessment of the information, detectives obtained a warrant for Capital Murder – Kidnapping First Degree.
Mckinney was charged with Capital Murder under Section 13A-5-40(1) (1) Murder by the defendant during a kidnapping in the first degree or an attempt thereof committed by the defendant.
Mckinney will be transported to the Jefferson County Jail and held under No Bond.
BPD believes the victim and suspect were in a dating relationship.

Wilson sustained blunt force injuries during a reported assault inside a residence located in the 3100 Block of 30th Court North on Sunday, July 24.
BPD officers responded to a home after a 911 that came in shortly before 5 a.m. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced Wilson dead at the scene.
The victim is Birmingham’s 76th homicide this year, including six justifiable homicide rulings which are not classified as criminal.
