LIMESTONE COUNTY — A man is in custody following a shooting that left one person injured and resulted in a standoff with local law enforcement on Saturday, August 6.
When deputies arrived, they said that the homeowner came outside to meet them and said his son had his daughter-in-law and their children barricaded inside a bedroom, and that he was armed with a pistol.
After deputies negotiated the safe release of the man’s children and wife, they were able to talk the man into leaving the house and arrest him.
The man was charged with second-degree assault, third-degree domestic violence (harassment), and third-degree domestic violence (assault). Law enforcement reports that additional charges may be forthcoming.
The man’s identity has not been released yet.
