JEFFERSON COUNTY — Beginning at 7 p.m., on Sunday, August 21, weather permitting, the Alabama Department of Transportation will close the inside (left) lane at 7 p.m. and center lane at 8 p.m. or outside (right) lane at 7 p.m. and center lane at 8 p.m., of I-20 eastbound or westbound for Asphalt Planing and Asphalt Overlay between Milepost 130.595 (near Exit 130A, U.S. 11 S; 1st Ave. N, and 130B, U.S. 11 N; 1st Ave. N) and Milepost 132.69 (Near Exit 132A, Oporto-Madrid Blvd, and Exit 132B, Montevallo Rd; U.S.-78).
All travel lanes are expected to re-open at approximately 5 a.m. on Monday, August 22.
These same lane closures will be in place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday, August 22, through Friday, August 26.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Construction Operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
