GADSDEN — Several area athletes competed in the Centre Stage Invitational Gymnastics Competition Friday, October 7 and Saturday, October 8, at the Venue at Coosa Landing in Gadsden.
Hosted by Zee’s Gymnastics, the event was sanctioned by USA Gymnastics-sanctioned and featured gymnasts ages six through 16 in Levels 1 through 5 and Xcel Bronze, Silver, and Gold. The event’s theme was “The Greatest Showman” and brought young athletes from all over Alabama, including competitors from ARK WinGS Gymnastics Center in Trussville.
Sloane Rother, a level 2 gymnast, won the Greatest Showman Award, for the highest score in her session on Friday, October 7, with an all-around score of 37.625. Sloane’s final tally is a composite score from her performance in four events, vault, bars, beam, and floor.
In her first year of competition, Zoe Grace Johnson, level 2, finished in 7th place in her age group with an all-around score of 35.325.
