BIRMINGHAM – A Birmingham man was, originally believed to have been stabbed, and killed early Wednesday morning in an apparent assault.
At around 1:30 a.m. officers were at the Food Mart located at 2258 Bessemer Road responding to another call when the victim arrived on scene requesting help.
The man, now identified as Richard Mark Carter, was shot
Bimringham Fire and Rescue rushed the victim to UAB where UAB hospital staff pronounced the victim dead.
The death is being investigated as a homicide.
No one is currently in custody.
