HOOVER – A suspected bank robber took his own life inside his apartment after police tracked him to his apartment on Friday, May 12.
The Hoover Police Department went to 40-year-old Terry Given’s residence at 7:28 p.m. to serve a search warrant in relation to a recent bank robbery.
Given’s reportedly refused to allow police access to his apartment and during subsequent negotiations, he ceased communication with police and not long after a shot was heard. Police entered the apartment and discovered Givens had sustained a self-inflicted gunshot. He was pronounced dead at 7:58 p.m.
The death is being investigated as a suicide. The Hoover Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
