MOODY – The St. Clair County Sheriff’s office is hosting the first annual law enforcement charity softball tournament at Moody City Park on Saturday, June 17.
The event is being held to raise money for the local child advocacy center, The Children’s Place. The tournament will begin at 10 a.m. There is no gate fee. The event will feature softball teams comprised of local law enforcement teams from all over St. Clair County coming together for a fun afternoon to support children in the local communities of St. Clair.
Teams will have collection buckets for those able to donate.
Juana Corbin, Public Information Officer for St. Clair county, is excited to see the community come together.
“This is a community event. We would love to see members of the community come out for a good cause. We want to continue to build relationships with the community and this is a great way to do it, all on behalf of the children in need,” said Corbin.
Various refreshment vendors will be on site for the event. Crickets Sweet Treats will have snow cones and lemonade while Chinito’s Mexican food truck and Chic-Fil-A Leeds will have food.
