MORRIS — A 20-year-old man was killed in a crash in Morris on Monday, according to Senior Trooper Justin O’Neal of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Alexander L. Curington of Cullman was fatally injured when the 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe that he was driving traveled off the roadway, struck several trees, and overturned at about 8:04 p.m.on Monday.
“Curington was attempting to elude law enforcement when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed,” O’Neal said. “Curington was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected, and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
A 17-year-old juvenile passenger in the Chevrolet was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.
The crash occurred on U.S. 31, near the 292 mile marker, within the city limits of Morris, in Jefferson County.
No further information is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
